Processing a precise, high‑gloss bevel edge on stone slabs is efficient and repeatable with a horizontal stone edge polishing machine. This CNC‑enabled equipment shapes, grinds, and polishes bevel profiles in one pass, eliminating manual inconsistency and boosting productivity for granite, marble, quartz, and engineered stone. This guide walks you through the complete workflow to achieve consistent bevel angles, uniform width, and mirror‑finish gloss.
What Is a Horizontal Stone Edge Polishing Machine?
A horizontal stone edge polishing machine utilizes CNC feed adjustment to grind edges of various stone sizes and thicknesses. This machine eliminates the need to change grinding heads when processing these shapes, and automatically switches processing modes based on the desired edge. Rough grinding and polishing are completed in one operation, resulting in a product with the same gloss as the surface finish. This machine boasts an advanced and rational structure, high precision, high efficiency, easy operation, and simple maintenance. The feed speed and grinding head feed rate can be adjusted during the grinding process to meet processing requirements. When operating normally, the machine performs the equivalent of 20 stone processing technicians, eliminating the process defects typically associated with manual processing.
How To Process Bevel Edge by Horizontal Edge Polishing Machine?
1:Pre‑Processing Preparation
Before starting the machine, always use calipers to measure the thickness of the sheet metal to be processed and confirm that the current thickness displayed on the equipment is equal to the measured thickness. If they are inconsistent, enter the measured thickness in the set thickness field and adjust until the current thickness equals the measured thickness (a mismatch between the current thickness and the sheet metal will cause the belt to tear, the motor to overload, or the sheet metal to be unable to be clamped tightly, making processing impossible); secondly, always check the water level. Insufficient water level will burn out the grinding wheel. Regularly apply lubricating grease (grease) to the transmission timing belt.

2:Machine Startup
Insert the water pump plug into the socket.
Turn on the main power supply (release all emergency stop buttons).

Adjust the feeding amount of each grinding head according to processing requirements.

Wait for the HMI to start, select language, and enter the main running screen.
For automatic operation: input measured slab parameters on the running screen, start the machine, test one slab first, then start mass production after inspection passes.
For manual operation: adjust parameters manually, start the machine following manual instructions.
3: Slab Loading & Unloading
Notice: Slabs must be fed in one step to the end. Once the slab touches the starting travel switch, the system will start automatic processing regardless of continuous feeding.
Align the slab with the vertical positioning belt and push inward along the belt.

For long slabs: hold and push along the positioning belt until passing the second motor, then release.

For uneven slabs: place the flat side against the reference side.
4:Automatic Bevel Processing
In automatic mode, after setting slab thickness and finishing calibration, feed slabs as required. The machine will automatically complete bevel profiling, rough grinding, fine grinding, and high‑gloss polishing.

5: Alarm Handling
(1) First, stop all current operations. If operating automatically, press the "Stop" button to stop the machine.
(2) Motor overload: Check the relevant circuits, thermal relays, frequency converters, permanent magnet drives, etc.
(3) Limit switch alarm: Manually turn on the corresponding switch to move the limit switch away from the limit position. Check whether the limit switch and encoder are loose, and whether the circuit is intact.
(4) After the fault is handled, the equipment can be restarted.
Pro Tips for Better Results
Use matched diamond tools for profiling and polishing to extend life and improve finish.
Maintain consistent clamping pressure to avoid movement during grinding.
For thick or dense stone, reduce speed slightly and increase polishing passes.
Clean the machine daily to prevent slurry buildup affecting accuracy.
Why Choose a Horizontal Edge Polishing Machine for Bevels
High Efficiency: One‑step grinding and polishing; replaces manual labor.
Consistency: CNC control ensures identical bevels batch after batch.
Versatility: Processes granite, marble, quartz, and engineered stone.
Easy Operation: Adjustable speed and feed during runtime; simple maintenance.
Premium Finish: Gloss equals slab surface; no manual defects.
In total, A horizontal stone edge polishing machine turns complex bevel processing into a stable, automated workflow. With proper setup and programming, you can produce precise, high‑gloss bevel edges efficiently for countertops, wall panels, stairs, and furniture components. For high‑volume stone fabrication, this machine greatly improves quality, reduces labor cost, and strengthens competitiveness.
